Workers repair an equestrian statue of R.L. Boyle in Central Memorial Park. The statue is intended as a tribute to all Albertans who fought in the Second Boer War.

History preserved at Calgary’s Central Memorial Park

The R.L. Boyle statue and the war memorial honouring Rt. Hon. Richard Bedford Bennett were repaired and cleaned in time for Remembrance Day.

When the original Edwardian gardens were designed, the park plan called for water fountains, but they were never built. One hundred and ten years later, these water features will be added as part of the current project.

Construction management on the park rehabilitation project is being done by Western Construction and Combustion Services Ltd. Iona Contractors Ltd. is also taking part in the project.
